I haven't got photobucket so can't add pics and as I said before this is different to the one on my commercial.... many people on here also said it couldn't be done!! Bosch pumps are one of the most reliable mechanical pumps out there!!! Please tell me what your box is doing to the maf and what effect that has?
Photobucket isn't crucial, when you're replying to a post, if you click the paperclip next to the smiley face, this will let you attach 1 image to your post. Failing that you've uploaded 2 videos on YouTube of your truck in action with one fitted, could you not do a quick 30 second video of it showing the connections, adjustment knob and the box itself :nenau That's the sort of thing I'd be doing if I was serious about trying to flog some of these.
I've read and heard people say the same thing about the Bosch pumps that they can't be messed with etc which is why I think so many people have then gone down the manual pump research route even though I've yet to see someone actually do one in my time here, I know Timbo from Shropshire has said he has done a few in the past.
The Bosch VE pump is a very very rugged and durable pump and I have no doubt that they are capable of providing way more umphhhhhh than it does out of the box. I just worry that asking too much of it could kill it off totally. Then there's other things to factor in too, does the pump still behave in the same fashion when ran on Vegetable Oil with the box up full whack? If not and it causes the pump to fail and someone points the finger at the tuning box, what then?
If it were me, I'd be making every person who brought one sign a document to the effect of dissolving any liability for any breakages caused by the box to avoid landing myself in hot water.
Finally, from what I've read, my box amplifies the signal that is being read by the MAF pre 2000RPM, I also noticed that fitting my Snorkel benefited me too as it seemed way more responsive afterwards, the greater the actual air flow, the higher the amplified value, the better the chip works.
Having spoken to a lot of other 4x4 guys about chips and tuning of Diesels etc, they all agreed that if you ask more of the pump, you need to throw in more air, adjusting fuel quantity on it's own will obviously have a positive impact but will plateau eventually without more air in the mix. This is why most 200TDi Defenders and Disco's smoke out the streets when floored as they are pumping unburnt fuel straight back out into the atmosphere I guess :nenau
