Well I just ordered 3 Falkens at teatime and they will be delivered to the fitters for 8 in the morning. £72 all in, the Toyo's had gone up from the last time I bought some and there were only two shown in the Toyo depot with no ETA until January so my mind was made up for me. Just hope I've chosen half reasonable tyres with the Falkens.

I have had some bfg s on for a couple of years they cost me £52 each fitted
and I am very pleased with them in all respects...... but they are called
" long terrain " they are like a town and country tyre marked M+S but have
never seen them anywhere else, when I asked mr google some one in the states said they were made for walmart but I was in walmart in virginia last may and didnt see any....... but in their tyre shop you could have your tyres filled with nitrogen or was it hydrogen.. instead of air!!!! odd bods those americans  bri

Well I just had my Falkens fitted and smart they look too, might be me but seemed to handle better. Interesting though whilst I was sat waiting I saw a ROSPA poster and it said basically 3mm is a minimum for safety's sake so forget the 1.6mm legal. I did happen to mention to the bloke behind the counter about the two fitters that said my 3 mil was fine.

Anyway besides looking smart there is a slight problem, the nissan spare wheel cover dont fit anymore -banghead- never thoguht of that and her indoors will not be pleased that I need a new one  Does anyone know of a cheap fix :?:

Funny that I was just thinking about lift springs........ Whats more important lift springs or wheel cover :?:

Jim

i have since i saw hummingbird can get them..

i just dont understand lifting the front.. need some help i think

Zippy

As far as I'm aware the front torsion bars simply adjust the height of them, not quite as simple as getting a spanner on it and turning but not far off. You need to ensure heights are the same both sides and there must be a few more settings to check.

i think i could do the back, JUST about.
not the front though
oh well. no cash for springs yet

All being well I am about to go outside and do mine complete with camera - so will have instructions to go with springs as soon as I can knock em up.

Yep them's the ones Sweety, pretty chunky too. Had the back end slide a bit when I put my foot down getting out of a junction. 8O but I'm guessing it was as much to do with the conditions.

New tyres take a short while to scrub in too. They use a silicon release agent to get em out of the moulds which doesn't help but even if you wipe this off they still need a while to get to their best.
