Really good photos and video clips! thanks for doing these, I have never seen the inside of a Terrano Transfer box and no idea until now how it worked - I didn't know it was chain drive.

Well done :thumb2

Cheers:clap

You will go far, inquisitive mind like me, so having stripped a transfer box can you tell me an easy way of putting it in low ratio without engaging 4 wheel drive will pay for answer, Rick

Cheers, I'm wanting to take an auto box and a standard fwd transaxle apart as thay look interesting. Think I might browse the local scrappys:D. Will upload the vid about putting the transfer box in neutral overnight As I mentioned in the vid

i forgot to say, i'll make more vids when i get further into the trans, but i'm waiting for some bearing pullers off of ebay:thumbs

Ah. You're not the only one who'd like that option! Great for slow-speed manoeuvers or towing.

that would be quite cool, but i'm not sure how to do that in the vehicle:doh i suppose it coul'd be modified as it does get annoying having to keep revercing to un lock hubs

I'm surprised you have time to upload anything on here, you are always building or taken something apart, good on you:thumb2

Low range without 4WD is easy. Manual hubs:thumb2. Ideal for really slow moving traffic, saves using the clutch all the time.

Got my bearing pullers today so I'll be able to strip the trans box down more and get vids and more pics:thumbs
