just seen an 03 sve on ebay lists abs and traction control

Item number: 200306414798

is this correct, know will have abs but TC??? any other
gizmos i should know about as was led to believe was
still a relatively straight forward truck mechanically but
plenty of toys in cabin.

Didn't know they fitted it but once you've got ABS its only a matter of programming an ECU to make the ABS do traction control too, so they may have fitted it, seems a bit supperflous to me on the road but off road might be handy especially on the front axle.

Might be non-standard. My 05 SVE definitely does not have traction control. It's part time 4wd, has ABS but has a rear locker. Maybe we should consider the possibility that the advertiser doesn't know the difference between traction control and a locker.

Cheers

Idiot that does not know what a 4x4 does buy it it'll never been off tarmac

yeah i thought as much, sort of trader to avoid. mind simple mistake, terrano was listed
as having abs but didnt but didnt mind as one less thing to go wrong. atleast my new
patrol has it along with a proper lever for 4wd, diff lock switch looks weak link but light
on dash came on when turned dial atleast.

hi
looks like a nice clean mota

may be referring to the button labelled SATBI (Rear Stabilizer Release Switch) for off road driving

temporary release to the rear axle anti role bar can only be selected and used below at speeds of 12Mph or less
To release rear bar Push button (off) light will show on dash when disengaged push and hold to re-engage (on) as labelled on the button as per user manual.

Just think the dealer has not read the manual, plus there is no Option on the ebay site when listing the car.

thanks Davemud

When I was looking around ebay, motor mags etc to find a replacement for my ageing Terrano it soon became clear that I had to really GO TO SEE the cars.
Some of the adverts and ebay inserts were done by office staff who simply copied out all they could find in the handbook regarding equipment.
An example was a R20 which was listed on ebay as having heated seats, climate control AND air conditioning and traction control plus cruise control. All this in a 2002 2.7 SE version
Couldn't resist going to see this phenomena. :naughty
It certainly was a very clean car, naturaly, did not have many of the goodies which were carelessly listed and had some costly bits which didn't work but the seller said that he wasn't too familiar with the type of car, appoligised for the misleading bits in the advert and negotiated very amicably to adjust the price to compensate.
Bought the car. Sorted lots of niggles with a bag of spanners, bits off eBay and help from this club. Like it a lot now. Still doing bits odds and ends which make all the difference. However, I wouldn't have considered buying it without the knowledge gained from this club plus a collection of tools which make my garage look like Steptoes yard.
