Hi,

Today my T2's engine warning light came on, so I got it hooked up & we got a code 43 which = Throttle Position Sensor is going belly up!

Has anybody here fitted one to a T2 before? Is it easy to do or is it very specialist & once installed, does it need to be calibrated or anything like that? I just talked with a local garage about the job who told me they had never done & told me to go to a Nissan dealership! :doh

I was wondering too, is it the whole TPS & pedal or is it just swapping the TPS with a few clicks etc?

Any help & advice here would be greatly appreciated folks:thumb2 I'm trying to avoid the budget busting dealership.

Thanks in advance.

Here's what the Nissan dealership had to say:

Throttle Pedal Assembly - £375.25 + VAT
Labour - £25.00 + VAT
Re-Programing of Sensors - £49.99 + VAT
Total: £450.74 + VAT (£540.89 inc VAT)

Never done one myself but I guarantee with a few good posts on here you'll have some sound advise and tackle it yourself and you might even be able to source one from cncfabs or terranobreakersshropshire

So you can take that £450 and shave a 0 off at least, we'll get you right buddy

Clivvy replaced his on his old mav. My gas pedal seems to hold the rpm well above 1000 but nudge it with my toe and it drops. Dunno if it's sensor or pedal mechanism, got a spare off Ginna but too many other things to do so not got it looked at yet.

yeah I did mine a couple of times, its one of the easiest jobs to do.

Buy new pedal (with sensor on)
remove old pedal.
fit new pedal.

go for a drive.

that's literally all I did, none of this reprogramming nonsense, worst case is you need a laptop to clear the fault codes, but most likely it will clear itself.

Get a working pedal from a scrapper (as new as possible, lowest miles as possible) if Nissans money scares you - I got mine from MakeItFit, worked perfect.

First to check is the micro switch on the pedal, that it is operating when the pedal is fully up, Rick

Discovered today that what I said earlier only applies to the Hitachie/Zexell set up the Bosch has a different throttle assembly, Rick

Thank you for all the help guys, superb stuff. I'm still tracking down the parts at the moment, I have found plenty but only a few that are compatible.

I have a few breakers currently pricing up the parts, so god willing I should have some prices tomorrow & can order it in.

Thanks again to everybody who has helped out. I'm not done yet, so standby in case I need more help!
