Well as it seems one mod leads to another I thought I'd start a build thread so I can keep up with it too :doh
Not much has changed since I bought it in March 2014.
I bought it from a trader just through Exeter and as my brother is a trader, he drove it home.
After a stop for fuel within 20 mins I knew if it made it home without problems it would be a keeper. He's a speed freak and I had trouble keeping up with him in his BMW 525:lol even with the faults we'd found buying it!
The front tyres were shot and the rear shocks were also, 1 being fitted upside down? He said it handled like a turd and the name stuck :doh
Anyway, haven't needed to do too much to it and even fewer mods but things seem to be snowballing:naughty

It had 4 matching tyres so I bought a pair of the same for the front.
Replaced the rear shocks and arb links with local motor factor items.
Replaced all oils.
Then my 1st mod :augie fitting a usb to the sunroof switch panel for a dash cam
This is after surviving the journey home.

Fitted repainted stiffer rear springs courtesy of Mad Mark.

I had the front bumper off to try and re-align it and it was fitted with head lamp washers. I've taken these off and removed the feed pipe to them.
Now the thing is, what can I do with the holes left behind? I was thinking of maybe drl or just a couple of ordinary lights. Or something else:nenau

They are in a funny place for anything other than washers I suppose, perhaps a tiny camera in n/s one linked to your rear view screen for when you hook up with front tow bar?:nenau, or go with my first thought and put dixie flags in them :D

Flags:doh come on T-Doug you can do better:nenau

They didn't work and there was a split in the tube which is why I was using so much screen wash. :nenau

Ahh ok.

You could just place them back in the holes for now so it doesn't look so bad :thumb2

Lol. I don't like them and I can't fix them and I don't want to. Waaaaah:freak3:

Hi,
Could you get the facia plate off the pop up headlight washers from the scrap yard and stick them over the holes. Sure BMW and Volvo have the pop up ones. Not as exciting as some ideas I'm afraid but practical :)

mmmm. Not bad...:thumb2

I finished night shift this morning and it's been so god damn muggy I decided to work on the truck.
So I've drilled and tapped to 8mm for a front guard that Rick has for me. I'll drill out the guard holes, if need be, and fit the mutha at the camp site. There was 1 snapped stud to deal with and after dot punching it, I stuck the drill on it and it spun out:clap

I've also removed most of the power steering cooling pipework. It had been repaired with a mishmash of copper pipe, push fittings and cable ties :doh
There's not too much room to work in but managed to get a small plumbers pipe cutter in and also a flaring tool. I reused the flexi bend. :thumb2

Had a bit of sleep this afternoon :D

Some good jobs to get done, it was 29 degrees in the customers house today, then I turned the heating on full to test his new boiler :freak3: I thought I was melting :lol
