how do you see the future of motoring ? .....technology seems to have come on in leaps and bounds ....not all for the better in my humble opinion .

what kind of technology do you expect in cars in the future ? ..... I expect cars that are virtually crash proof , similar to systems already in place today which scan the immediate area of the vehicle and automatically apply braking to all vehicles in a crash situation .

as for engines I guess that is anyones guess ..... even engines that run on fresh air I suppose .

Engines that run on water... I have started saving water in butts and old pots and pans, if anyone wants to invest in my little scheme, let me know:augie:augie

they already done that one its called steam:lol

Seems to me that you will get into your personal pod and tell it where you want to go and you will arrive a while later, no fun at all, safe maybe, but mindless rubbish, and where the the F do I put the 36 x 18 cylinder and my tools, Rick

Well, if anything major was going to happen, Japan will probably be the first place to look, next things I'll guess will be developing safety systems and just things for convenience

The future of motoring

So if you have an older V8 motor in 10-20 years time they will go up in value as the petrol heads amongst us seek the old fashioned adrenalin rush!

No traction control, electronic stability control and automatic braking for us !

Buy your Corvette Stingray now !!

Get that Volvo S8 V8 AWD towcar now !!

The Future.
There will be special hubs around the country, that you can drive to and park your car, you will then board a pod that is full of seats, then this pod will transport you to a city of limited choice, where you then have to find your own way to your final destination.

This will be cheaper than driving your own car. (this is the real point:eek:)

Jackanory.. fairy tale I know, a few months ago we went to the York Railway museum, to see the collection of A4 pacifics, Mallard etc, the train ticket for 2 adults return, on the morning... £208 Going from Lichfield, second class cheap day return.
We would still have to pay the car park £4.50 if we could actually find a space, so would have been a very expensive trip.

In the end we went by car, paid £6.00 for the car park in York, and fuel was under £25 so about a seventh of the rail cost. The journey was fairly quick too, no hold ups, door to door transport. It might catch on.:doh

If only they had cheap realistically priced public transport which ran on time, and can give door to door transport. Oh and the big bug bear, they are clean:doh

Theres a guy up here that installs h2o systems & U only need to change the liquid every 2 yrs, never fuel up in that 2 yrs....I don't have £800...:doh but i'll stick to my basic motors for as long as possible... auto pods/cars ain't gonna be fun & eventually the traffic won't be on the roads so it'll be alll mine :sly

Cars will be chipped so they can be tracked and charges will be made against mileage, express routes costing more than rural routes, cities will cost more too.

Eventually people will be chipped, so they know where you are, so if a crime is committed, it will be easy to find the perpetrator.
Tracking across continents, so no need for id or passports, no need for cash or credit cards.
They will know what you earn, so no cash back handers, as cash will be obsolete by then. They will know who you are with, and for how long.
If you should be at work, they will know where you are...

Just think about it, if you have a mobile phone that is switched on, then they can track your position throughout the world now anyway...

1984  Club Points cards allow companies to build a profile of your spending habits, what foods your buying and how often. Are you buying foods that promote a healthy lifestyle? What time and location. You may have missed a week, You were on holiday?
