My first ever car was about 7-8 years ago and upon passing my test was brought by my parents.

It was a G Reg Ford Escort Mk4 1.4 Petrol in Dark Red.

Back in 1981 I got my first car -a 1970 Beetle. Solid body, lovely blue, but the engine used more oil than petrol.

my mam had one of those for a while, it caught fire

the battery was under the back seat and if you fitted a battery that was a bit too tall (as hers clearly did ) the exposed seat springs formed a nice heating coil between the terminals :lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol

funny because the first car i actually bought with my own cash was a Manta GTE registered October 1986, it was about 2 years old, i even had a private reg. It cost me £330 to insure, fully comp, with zero no claims and 10 penalty points for reckless driving!

My first owned motor was an A40 Somerset convertible purchased in 1969 blew the big ends on a Cornwall holiday, got a Sunbeam Talbot after that great car, toured Europe on our honeymoon with an equally old bluebird caravan (hardboard sides) and as we were going into mountain areas I installed vacuum brakes, worked fantastically well, this old van by the way had hand pumped hydraulic jacks for leveling, I have some pics but cant find them, Rick

really?

so fact reflections fiction or vice versa lol

neat had 2 spare points still!

This comes close to what I'd have done to mine if ever had more
than spare cash for another gallon of 4 star.

mind i really wanted to put an rs2000 nose cone on it but believe
that dispite looks the mk2 escort estate was pretty much mk1 from
bulkhead back.

mine was ex services on a re-reg as a y at end of plate, where as it
was really a 76.
