My 1st car was a 1966 Ford Anglia 1200 super................with........ A 1500cc pre crossflow engine, 4 into 2 into 1 exhaust manifold (customised Burton racing item) works rally escort (big bubbly things) wheel arches, huge wide steel wheels and tyres, classic capri front struts & disc brakes, home made exhaust system with peco box, Mk1 Cortina GT front seats and instuments and a HUGE rev counter on top of the dash !!! :clap:clap:clap...happy days :thumb2

There you go - It is a Goggomobil ! about 1955 vintage.

Goggomobil was a series of microcars produced in the Bavarian town Dingolfing after World War II by Glas. The engine was an air cooled, two stroke, two cylinder unit originally displacing 250 cc, but later available in increased sizes of 300 cc and 400 cc. It had an electric pre-selective transmission built by Getrag and a manual clutch. The engine was behind the rear wheels. Suspension was independent all round using coil springs with swing axles.
I think mine was a 300cc as there was a 300cc scooter in the neighbourhood and was about the same vintage.:D

With you there, my second and first desired car was mk2 4door 1.3 ghia.

might have been an s or t reg, embaressed cant recall now. velour seats
met blue with black vinyl roof oh yeah baby. certainly more attractive
than ex raf estate i had just ot get me stick licence after mum bought
herself an auto! supoose been cheaper to use a driving school but wheres
the fun in that.

funny dont recall thinking of doing rs2000 nose on the 4 door perhaps it
was just too nice as it was with its big square headlights. suspect by
then had seen the mexico and rs1600 etc in motorsport mag rallying
and flat front was cool again.

certainly thats one car i'd buy again, if could find it or remember reg....

My D reg 1.2 Nova Majestic with 23000 miles on the clock..... Well they we all the rage back in 2000 and me and 12 of my mates had them!

I did try to avoid the chavyness that often came with them and subtly modded it and made it mint.... Inc under the bonnet! Even got some photos in Total Vauxhall Mag!! I was so proud lol

Ended up getting shunted up the rear by 2 Mercs on the way home from Santa Pod Vaux show and put me in Hospital!! :(

The rest of my fleet is in another recent thread!!

mine was a 1.6 opel ascona 22 years ago i didnt even know how to start it:augie

hand painted matt black and brakes on the front passingers wheel only

Russet Brown V Reg Morris Marina, last seen on the back of a tow truck. The 1.3 engine gave up so I bought another car to get the engine out of. Didn't realise until it was fitted that it was a 1.8  Never did get it working properly.
Had to push it down my road to get it started in the mornings, and park it on an embankment at work so I could start it at night. Took about 10 minutes to get to 50mph then took off lie a greyhound with a rocket up its arse.

And then it blew up. :doh

Funny thing, it was 8 years old when I bought it for £280. My current (other) car was 8 years old when I bought it for £2900 !

My first car was my dad's old peugeot 404 estate and it was like a bus, colum gear change and hand brake was on the right hand side under the dash. The first car i bought my self was a 1300 MK3 Cortina, had it 3 days and wrote it off. What a plonker. G

My first car was 20 days older than me, an Austin A30 4 door, complete with trafficators.

The backrests of the front seats folded forward and then the whole seat tipped forwards again giving plenty of "play" room in the back.
We changed the engine by standing on the wings and lifting it out with a rope.

Always want one of these but had to settle for the van. had a big SU carb on it , went like a rocket till I hit a coal wagon in a snow drift. RIP little van.

My first car was a 1986 Ford Capri 2.8i in black... and I f***ing loved it! My dad bought it as my 17th birthday present for £450 and it cost £3500 to insure (in my grandads name with me as a named driver). Went everywhere sideways in it for the first 6 months 'til I went through a central reservation and into a lamp post :( Bad times

My first car was a Mercury Grand Marquis 3.2l V8. At this time I lived in the States so Petrol was very cheap.

When I moved to the UK I bought an old Rover 214 which in the end made me twice the money than I had paid for it. Good times :thumbs
