My Terrano have been jerking between 2500 - 3500 rpm under load all winter.
I changed the Camshaft sensor and the car got better atfer a while.
At the time the car got better, but i see now it's because of the outside temperature. Yesterday the outside temp. was +8C and the car worked perfectly. Today the outside temp. was +3C and the car started to bounce/jerk again.

Does anyone have any idea what this can be?

Need more details of your truck, Tdi or std , diesel/petrol :nenau
If TDi it could be MAF as that's temperature related. If std diesel then probably fuel filter and or corroded fuel lines letting in air.

Sounds a bit like my issue, I've had it since I changed fuel filter and I 98% sure it's letting in air there. Have new filter to fit and clear fuel lines to check for air, now need spare time and a dryish day (been waiting for that combo for a while!).

I run SVO with a bit of diesel and it definitely has more issues the thicker the fuel is (same happens to any liquid as temps go down, just more obvious with SVO) as I guess the pump has to suck harder and therefore sucks in more air.

Sound comment and a logical conclusion too.:thumb2:thumb2

My car is a 2.7TDI 97 with the hitachi system.
It might sounds like a MAF problem. But wouldn't the diagnostic pick up on that?

I have tryed to change the fuel filter, but it did'nt seem to get better, but it might be poor hoses og air in the system.
But does not the Terrano have self air-release system?

SVO?

SVO = vegy oil :thumb2
Fuel lines corrode allowing air in and so little bubbles of air can work their way through  Check lines over rear axle/chassis.
The MAF can be on the way out before it scores high enough to wake up the ECU.
Have you actually done a code read , as there may be some even though the MIL is not on.

If it was the fuel lines, would it not leak diesel when its not running? or at least show signs of a leak on the line itself?

As Pete mentioned, SVO = Straight Veg Oil, clean stuff fresh off the supermarche shelf. I also, when I can get it, run WVO which is waste veg oil which is really manky stuff, but after a period of settling and filtering plus a dose of petrol does just as good.

Kamsin, the fuel lines are under suction from the pump so air gets in rather than fuel out. I guess if there was a hole on the bottom of a pipe then it may drip when not running.

You can some times see wet patches on the fuel lines over the rear axle ontop of the chassis rail , just where it gets all the crap sticking to it

as with most diesel leaks the stuff stinks , so might be worth a look underneath and have a sniff around , that's what i did and as mentioned above will see the wet patches.

I get what your saying, but if its been parked up and under suction after a while the suction will be gone as the air will have got in, then the diesel can leak out, it wont (Or should not matter) if the hole is on top or below as the diesel tank is above the fuel lines and gravity will cause the fuel to leak out.
Just my thoughts on it, im going to check mine as soon as i can fix the presure washer and clean it underthere.

Dont do it  Often it's the mud and rust holding it all together. Just look for signs of dampness and have a sniff :naughty oo er missus :lol

Spent some time under it a couple of weeks ago and saw nothing to worry about, so im guessing thats ok then, back to Sq 1

Well I got my fuel filter and clear hoses on, all seemed good so out for the test run - nope still getting issues under load. Had another look again today and low and behold a big bit of air in the line just before the filter.

Looks like I'll need to spend some time underneath the old girl to sniff out the damp bits :naughty:eek:

Might just replace the lot, although I didn't buy enough the first time :doh, only got about 2.5 meters now. Probably worth changing from tank until somewhere midway underneath unless there's a moist area further forward.

Have now connected the computer to the car and hade a drive.
No error codes and the maf voltage seems ok.

So the fuel line seems like a good place to start.
Since when it's cold the car is worse. (rubber shrinks when cold and holes gets bigger)

The odd thing about the fault you have is that my T2 2.7TDI does this when not on load.

When you put your foot down there is no problem, if you cruse at 2000rpm she kicks like a mule :nenau
