Your help needed plse. We have a 1999 2.7 TDI Terrano which we use to tow a horse box, my wife was out in it recently and it lost some power but kept running, having got to her destination she switched it off and when she came to start up again it turned over, but didn't strike up. Having got the AA out, the friendly AA man suggested it could be the diesel pump. The car was despatched to the local garage who in turn had to take to the Nissan dealership where the diagnostic test threw out the following - CONT.SLEEV POS SEN. Having taken the diesel pump off and sent it to a diesel pump specialist he couldn't find anything wrong with the pump. So now we are mistified by what's wrong with the car. Has anybody else had the same/similar experience, and how did you sort it?

typically, could be allsorts. problem now is its been tinkered with, so nailing down the original problem migh tbe tricky.

if it LOST power but kept going, then wouldnt start, it does sound pump-like. but what about the fuel filter, perhaps it got clogged, full of water etc? as an example, when I first changed my fuel filter, it would turn but not start. i had to prime it for ages then relase any moisture out the drain tap, worth a look for the sake of 5 mins. Also, definatly check the maf...

if the pump is ok great, so what about the No1 fuel injector? check for a bad earth even, you never know!

best of luck, it may well turn out to be something or nothing!
