with the recent temperatures , ive heard that rock salt loses its effectiveness at between -6 and -8 , so be aware of black ice on roads ... also last night it was minus 10 here .... how low does it have to be for antifreeze not to work properly ? ... im guessing its a lot colder

I think its:

30% mix = -15 degrees C
40% mix = -23 degrees C
50% mix = -37 degrees C
60% mix = -51 degrees C



It was minus 12 at mine this morning!!!! Road is just sheet ice, couple of inches thick!! Even the dog was struggling to walk on it!

Snow and more Snow

Hi Briggy a foot of snow here on the Isle of Axholme and -16 i thought i left all the snow behind when i moved fom Wainstalls in Halifax, up there if there was a snif of snow we got it.to day at 3.30 it was -4 and falling.

The correct term is ice without milk I believe
