TDI T2 number 1 injector fault sumptoms?

if anyone has had this problem what were/are the symptoms - this one is a 2005 with all bosh pump, maf, etc.

i dont know about a 2005 model, but my 98 t2 the mil light came on and engine run a bit lumpy, i checked the code and it was no1 injector down, fitted new injector no more problems.:thumb2

this is an odd one, it is lumpy when you rev it when it's standing but no problems ticking over or under load :nenau

we are trying a new maf in it tomorrow (straight from a Bosch specialist) as unplugging the maf seems to clear the fault. A weird one all round

give the maf a clean with electrical contact cleaner then dry it with a hair dryer seems to work for some got to be worth ago before spending money on a new one

I had to do mine, but i had other problems with it at the same time. Fitted new injector and the engine ran loads better and have had no problems since. Wish I had done the other injectors at the same time but I didnt!

what were the symptoms when the injector was acting up?

poor acceleration for me, possibly contributing to stalling (but might have JUST been the CKP), bit smokey, rough running.

Any T2 will "missfire" when revved at stand still. It's something to do with a different timing/tuning map when the beastie isn't moving:thumbs
There's a sensor on the gear box that detects when the truck is moving and that tells the ECU to get it's act together and make fire:sly
So probably nothing wrong

once i changed my injector, it drove like a different motor, makes a big difference to the way it drove, pulled better, sounded crisper from cold, idling was smoother, i think it is one of those faults that creep up, and when it cured you notice the difference more, :nenau:thumbs

I noticed a lot of noise from the engine; when I loosened the no.1 injector it stopped making the noise; proof positive I ordered a scrap (£50) fitted it and now runs perfectly; I changed the fuel tank, some fuel lines and numerous filters before doing this; the mechanic wanted to strip the IC and the turbo; he didn't believe me that full power had returned; it had and in fact the engine runs better than before.

no, throw away, they cost around £150 give or take a few quid. :thumb2

I dont think it is a common fault and it's got some whacky sensor on it, hence the mortgage money price:doh

bloody electronics,had transit once with lucas epic,epic bloody failure bunged mechanical pump on much better lol
