So noticed a few members posting from hand held devices, using tapatak in their
signature of the post.

Whats the verdict, a good app?

My note3 is suggesting I install it, though with it bigger screen suspect could manage
without.

Gather from their site theres an add on for forums too.

discuss?

I had that before and ended up unlinking the forum and adding it again

I swear by it aswell. Iactually find it easier to upload pics to the forum using this app than on the pc. (multiple pics in one post and not having to transfer pictures from phone to pc first). I too use it for several forums.

still wont connect on 3g
derigistered and then re registered ,

works fine on wifi still

It has it's pluses and minuses.

Very easy to use from the phone, and the text is straight away a good size to read, so no messing with trying to get it big enough to read, but small enough to fit on the screen.

You can use it for many forums, which makes keeping an eye on several very helpful, we use it on our 4x4Responce forum, so it is easy to check in regularly to see what is going on, and saves them money, as they only have to use the SMS system in emergencies, rather than call-outs that have a good lead time.

Nice and easy to respond to a post, and post pictures as the others have said.

Bad sides.

In order to let you know if you have any PM's, it checks the forums regularly, and on this forum, every time it checks the messages, it marks all the threads as read, so it is very easy to miss new posts, or as I have found, answers to my own posts, unless you make a point of remembering the last time you checked, and going back further than the few it is showing as new. The problem then is, it goes to the first post, rather than the last read one, which on long threads can be a pain.

You can't see any of the info or footer on a person who has posted in a thread, so if they leave out the model of their car, or their location from the actual post, there is no way to know that by looking at those bits.

You don't seem to be able to get to the Links, and downloads section.

I personally still prefer using the laptop, which makes looking at the pictures a lot easier, and finding your way around is far better, but it is useful to keep an eye on things when not at home.

I would agree with what you have said. To be fair I mostly use it to update my project thread during the day and go on the PC in the evening to keep up to date with everything else. I certainly would not want to be without it now though.

what about pm's, looking to get back to mod issues when away from pc.

at moment the pm can be read in the email the site sends me.

will try it, as is another way in, not forgetting the fb page of course.

I run it on my own forum as well, PM's are OK, but you can't do any of the "Mod" work from it, so have to go back to a Web browser for any of that stuff.

It does seem to vary from forum to forum... What is the engine behind your forum? I am using SMF software.

Where's the e-mail sending facility from the forum?

I'd like to switch that on :thumb2

find it easier to upload photos on taptalk but you can not use it for everything on the forum, but it is very useful if your on the move.:thumb2

I like it but only use it when I'm not at home. About the best bit is makeitfit's profile doesn't run on my phone so I manage to get shit done rather than spending sooooooo much time in a dream!:D
