Haha:thumb2:D

back in 1994, he started life as a swb and over the years got bigger and turned into a lwb. :doh:naughty

I've had 4 T2's and I've never had a LWB, I might give it a go, eventually :)

we've got 2 T2's 1 lwb and a rotten swb that I use for parts on my lwb. My dad had a maverick back in 2006-2007 but the gearbox broke:doh

Excellent :clap

I remember changing the water pump on my first TD and suddenly it was all very different! the fan started cutting in and out properly! The difference was remarkable.

I have been thinking, do pay attention as it doesn't happen often! In some cars you hear the engine revs change when you turn the headlights on as a result of the extra current drawn putting more load on the engine and headlight bulbs are 55 watts (110 combined) so if the original fan is equivalent to 186 watts to have better cooling you would need more. Imaging you have fitted a 200 watt fan (marginally better) what effect would this have on the engine revs? would it in fact save any fuel or increase power at all? :nenau

Logic suggests that it would make things worse

"Logic suggests that it would make things worse "
I remember using logic once
It didn`t work.

:lol :thumbs

It still seems a lot of work and expense for something that might be no more effective than 'go-faster' stripes :thumb2

i think in truth plank is right, when fan on compared to fan on id go viscous fan.

but in reality the viscous fan does not stop spinning ever . its freewheeling almost, and that is taking power all the time , often they are locked engaged seized so big power drain, often they dont engage seized and you get hot when towing.

with electric you only drain power, maybe slightly more . BUT how often does the fan actually engage on a t2 anyway they run so bloody cold all the time. i bet mine has not engaged for months probably 6 or 7 months and thats why they seize

if anything id say the engine runs cold anyway and therefore the engine cooling is too efficient and the viscous fan when on is a massive beast of a fan . typically nissan belt and braces over reliability

just my thoughts
