OK,My other car is Suzuki GV 2000 soft-top 8O .
Purchaced it the same time as the Terrano 2 and off E-BAY also !!Both vehicles i took back with me to Bulgaria,i towed the GV behind the T2.I've only used it a couple o times so far but seems a good little off-roader,why you ask did i buy one of these ?Well a couple, first me Mrs said the Nissan LWB might be a bit big for her to handle, second i fancied a ragtop meself not for the POSE FACTOR but Bulgaria's weather is 8 months of full sun, reaching 36c and i wanted those rays  also as i'm a biker i thought i could have the openess of a bike but with a bit more comfort as i'm getting on a bit now.
The Suzi seems to have loads of power and pretty fast as its small, light with a 2 litre engine approx 130 bhp,off-road like i said haven't really tried it properly but the older models seem to be sought after and well used and well thirdly i think i had it cheap,a bargain  so cant wait for March when Mr Sunshine comes back 8)

I had a suzuki gv 1600 hardtop before i got the terrano. I enjoyed it as it was my first 4x4 but i have to admit it was the most basic and uncomfiest motor ive ever had!! Didnt look back when i managed to do a deal with my old man and trade it in for his discovery when i bought his terrano!!

i was hoping for an SJ, Jimney or vitara as a play car, but no money at the mo...

i wouldnt go for a gv for an off roader... it was bad enough controlling it on the road never mind off it!!!

GV? grand vitara??

i was thinking more a Jimny... bit eayer to get teh odd part for....

all adream at the mo though

yes.. the gv is the grand vitata... only thing i would say about the jimny is that if your tall the steering column doesnt adjust on them making them a bit cramped! They certainly seem like good motors though!!

we have two grand vitaras at the moment and have owned 5 over the last few years (all lng wheel base ones though!) boght and sold etc. and I must admit they are excellent! check out U tube for some off road action even in unmodded form they are pretty good and believe it or not have higher clearance under the diffs than a t2!

be carefull of early swb 1600 GV's as they have the old vitara engine and drink fuel!

Zippy, what year of GV was it,as said it could of been the 'older' type engine,as i can't fault this one. It's a 2000cc and year 2000,it goes like the clappers !!!handles well (SWB) and has ample groundclearance....as it's so small can go places (and turn) where my LWB Terrano cant...My Mrs dont like the t2 as it's too big. :(

barny was not a GV, befor then....

1990s i guss ( first wife time )

thats it then early to ate 90'ds probably a vitara rather than a grand vitara!

GV's are anything but slow! we had a v6 petrol one with twin compressors for boosting air intake in asimmilar manner to turbos and it was pretty quick, the 2 litre ones we have now at over 140bhp! and being relatively small and light dont hang about either!

seen befor... but great all the same..

i want one to play with still...

its not a bad choice at all, I love suzuki's and you can get loads of bolt on bits off the shelf, they are as well loved off road as land rovers I would think, check some austrailan sites for good mod bits and prices!

thanks will do, mate has works got a jimny.. great little prpoer 4x4..

i use the T2 for amily stuf and tugging caravan, so i cant realy bend it..

little green lanes are ok. noting to much though

Congratulations zippy656 your'e last 6 posts are all reading 999 well done ,crack out the bubbly

Gv 2000

My GV 2000 yr 2000 has a fault i just noticed....the back lights AND brake lights are not working,Any ideas ?

have you got a stray gerbil in the boot? :lol

If it were mine i would dtart with the obvious like fuses and work it back from there, it does seem and odd fault though, more like dmaged wires than anything else

What are the GVs like for towing? I like them too but do a lot of towing ;)
