Hi all,
Im wondering if any1 can tell me how to check the front shockers as my motor seems to rock and roll real easy when pushing it sideways. (is this the norm?)
Also should the gap between the arch and the tyre be the same on both front and rear? Mine seems real low on the front (standard set up and tyres) what should a rough measurement be? (no sign of any excess or unnatural tyre wear)

The reason the rear is higher than the front is that the rear is the load bearing end of your truk so the springs are stronger or perhaps longer or both. If you dont like the rock an roll you may consider uprated springs (stiffer). Hope this helps cok :?:

For what it's worth, my Terrano is also very rolly and I am considering changing the front and rear shocks in the near future (maybe sooner than I had anticipated if it fails MOT in a couple weeks time :smile: ). Also, when I hit bumps of any size at all on the road, it feels like it is hitting directly onto the bump stops.

I haven't had a chance yet to get underneath the vehicle to check it out properly, but just thought I'd mention that you're not alone...

Does your truck sit level? The front springs on a Mv/T2 are torsion bars and they tend to sag with age, most on the road are nose down, same on Pajeros/Shoguns (have a look theres loads like it). Its really easy to wind up the font bars and there are full details on how to measure the ride height correctly in the WORKSHOP MANUAL Up rated torsion bars are available but they are quite expensive .

Winding up the suspension helps in all sorts of ways as you get the geometry back to standard. Easy jo well worth doing.

I hate to brag but mine passed its mot years ago!! so there!! :lol:

Mine doesn't sit level but once the snows melted i'll check it out to see what I need to tweak, its had the rear shocks done last nov, but how do I know if the fronts will need doing, I think one may of leaked but everytime I remember to look for signs I've driven thru so many puddles its all wet. Don't want to take it to garage for mot and have them doing them after a fail.
