should have all the parts to do it next week, but I am on holiday so it wont get done until possibly the week after.
also doing the ball joints and compression rod bushes before the 33's go on.

Hi guys, just reviving this old thread as I've got some work going on the Black Pearl next week. Realised I never put a final price up.:augie
S/H steering box and arm about £50
My time to cut up the box and make blank plate £25
Drag link and two modded arms £135
Steering box spacers and massive fixing bolts n nuts £30
Delivery about £20
Once you've got it all fitted you send me back your old drag link and steering arm exchange :thumbs

So does this mean we can get the work done at yours? With dish of course :lol :nenau

in the pic is the idler arm just bolted to the drag link?
doing this mod very soon so need to research it a bit before I start.:thumb2

Well kind of. the drag link needs bushing to replace the old captive ball joint bit. So you need tp bin the old ball socket and machine out the innards to make way for a new bush insert.
Then the bolt goes through it and the modified steering arm :thumbs

Good as I ain't got a clue what do now I've got one lol.

how ever you mod your steering, ensure the tie rod stays as parallel as possible with the lower arm or you will have bump steer and scollop out your front tyres, It will lead you to think you have a wheel alignment issue otherwise.

Started work on the makeitfit super strong steering job.

That's enough for today.time for a shower,beer and a bit of telly:thumb2

Watching closleymy friend.
Think I will get my grinder out very soon.
What do you need take the bottom arm off for?
Is it to get that spline thingy out?

You need to weld on a dirty great support flange thing :D and be as close to interference fit as poss.
Dothat on the steering box and you melt all the seals, it's pretty thick steel. Make sure you get good penetration on the welds too :naughty

I've only got a 150 amp mig so getting them stick welded at work.
Could do it with mine but would need to heat up the cast first to get anything like a strong weld.

did a bit more on the steering box last night:thumb2
tidied up the cutting with grinder and cut the teeth off the spindle.

need to crack the nut so I can get the arm off so will do that at work this morning with the grown up tools as I have only got a small vice at home and it wouldn't hold it secure enough to do it.
