Hi All
Noticed an unnerving noise lately.
It seems to only happen during slow reverse with a slight turn applied.
It sounds and feels like a knock, i can sense or even feel a jump somewhere.
Not a very good description I know, any ideas???

Does it sound like its emanating from front or rear?

If rear, first job is the change rear diff oil and ensure you use correct LSD oil. Mine went away after that. :)

If it does sound like it's comming from the rear it could be the exhaust catching the floor:thumb2

Thanks for quick reply.
Come to think of it, might well be from the rear,Dont think its the exhaust but will check and change the oil soonest.
Thanks again.

LSD oil is always a job worth doing, but as Sweety says, dont leave out the bleedin' obvious :):)

if on full lock could be stearing stops.. in downlod section. grease the up is all you need to do..

steering stops

I used to get that sometimes, at the time when one or both my front hubs were sticking?

Worth checking anything grounding, get some one outside whilst you manouvre and see they can tell you anything about the noise or grounding. Also is it a loose exhaust bracket could cause that too.

Grounding = touching the ground

Towbars and other things can catch but not as often with these motors but i have done it on mine (dont ask:doh)

I'm having a simular problem!
I wasn't sure were it was comming from as I had have a few creak's and squeaks from the steering stops and the clutch but with both these are now sorted it definatley has a slight shudder that you can see and feel from the rear wheels when reversing with a partial or full lock on?

I only picked it up on wednesday and have a mth warranty!! the garage is 160 miles away so if it looks like it's going to be big job I might have to return it?

The bloody airbag warning light is flashing again? I spotted this when I originaly test drove it and they aparently got it fixed??? 3 days later and it's flashing again? any ideas?

Jay, my air bag light used to flash when I first got mine, it was a thing called a spirral cable which is in the steering wheel.

If you both decide to change your rear diff oil ensure that you or the garage use proper LSD Oil and not gear oil with or without an additive.

Changed the rear diff oil as advised and problem seems to have gone, so thanks everyone for some sound advice.
