Bought a mig nothing fancy. There's a lot of splatter, got it on lowest setting, and blows holes on the paper thin bits, but I've managed runs on the small stuff, practice makes perfect. It's 100 amp gasless

If you're buying a welder. What you pay is what you get. Don't go for one that has min/max for amp settings, they're crap. You'll need to fine tune, so a dial for wire feed & a knob with lots of amp settings.
I've seen many a guy trying to weld with a Machine Mart special cheapy cheap. They're crap.
I don't want to put you off, I just hate to see you waste your money.
I paid £280.00 for my welder second hand, but it's a good one.

My mate borrowed it to weld his Astra MKI & was very impressed with it, he bought a mediocre one from Machine Mart & he hates it.

I've never used tapatalk before and didn't realise the feed continued on other pages. If I had I wouldn't have bought the cheap krap one. Doh! Anyone wants to buy a mig!

I bought a MIG years ago, on special from Halfords, has all the adjustments, came set up for gasless welding, but also came with a bottle or two of seperate gas, never used those . I have welded the odd exhaust bracket, a quick bodge on a broken tail pipe, and a fractured lawn mower case, to be fair, they welded well, some blow holes, but who cares. Total amateur and the welds look it lol.
I would not use it for bodywork, too thin, and not enough experience, I would not use it on any structural chassis work either, may be to patch the odd outrigger that holds the bumper on, no more.
Gate post hinges, a bit of bracketery here and there fine.

Note, you probably know this, but you have to changeover the polarity of the gun and earth, if you are swapping over from gasless to wire with seperate gas bottles, so worth checking out how your's is set. might help.:augie easy to set up.

I would buy gas, Gasless is harder to weld thin metal.

i use both gas and gasless.pros and cons with both but yeah with the lowest setting on gasless on my set its still easy to blow holes through the thin stuff.

years of the boy and me building wind breaks and gas on max are over now we have the unit :clap
