Do not fit this if you don't think it will not fit. Do not get it dirty!

They won't accept a return.

Take the old one off and see what they look like side by side. Luckily you bought from ebay they are very good to buyers, You won't have trouble getting a refund.

If it is wrong make them send a courier for it. If they won't just go through ebays dispute system.

Ok, it could be a genuine mistake as he's got a good feedback.

Its not a mistake, you forgot to provide the correct details. :doh

A good craftsman is only as good as his tools. (Or the information he provides) :augie

it probably is or like said before he probably never checks the box. Just has whats written down from suppliers.

OK looking from the front engine spins clockwise, as starter is fitted from engine side (brush gear to the front) it has to spin anti clock and it does not matter which side of the engine it is mounted all Terrano's are the same in this regard, I have not looked through the entire thread but seems rotation is an issue, if it is for a Terrano it has to rotate anti clock end of story (looking from brush end or if looking from gear end then clockwise) hope this helps, Rick

Correct, however its the starter thats wrong, not the engine, they sent it for the wrong rotation as you can see from the photos if you look. The cog is for the opersit rotation as the teeth are inverted against the spin shaft.

We have advised he gets the old one off to match it up, but you can see it quite clearly. If he does the starter mod and strips down the new starter then reverses the process from inside then the polarity to the fixing ring will be correct and will change it to the correct fitting. As stated a 2 hour job on mums kitchen table, but not imposible.

(As long as he keeps his dad out the way) :lol

also remember to check the bearings on the giggle pin have been greased cos they tend not to grease them on the cheaper starters
