 how on earth can they say thats for your truck? i hope you have proof of purchase etc. shame you are so far away from them, see when i got one from there i took the old starter with me to collect the new one as its just down the road from me, shocking service, as kamsin said tho 2hr job to sort it out depending if the wiring inside is spooled the right way,

I was told there was only 2 types, 1 for petrol and 1 for diesel. This guy had good feedback and I was told it's a 100% compatible, let me go and kick dad off computer and I'll get the link.

OOPS is your dad going to help fit the new "Special" starter then :lol
I guess you could just change the polarity of the whole car . No ecu to worry about so should be ok as long as you reverse the radio too :thumbs

ohh aye:doh would sod up the instrument cluster and woofer amp

If he does that he will have problems with the indicators though. He need to do the starter motor, a bit of a pain but better than messing with the whole truck.

Fancy not sending the reg it would of pointed this out to the seller. :doh

Iv got a fix for it somewhere although i never done one because i was going to swap mine a few months ago when it would not start on cooking oil cos it was too cold and thought the started was the fault.

I think its the same guy i spoke to when i was going to do it.

There is no improved starter for the T2 as they stopped making them, they are all re-conditioned units with new insides, but some have the D22 sided cogs on as Makeitfit said.

If he just swaps the polarity conectors inside it will work ok, but as i said its a 2hour job. :clap

I have to say I dont know :nenau How about you nip out and lift the bonnet, spin her over and see which way the fan goes :thumbs
Ah damn, just remembered your starter is goosed innit :lol
Just get the old one off and go compare :D

yes and battery is dead too, think i'll tow it to friends farm if im alowed to keep it in the shed and strip the starter off tomorrow

Aint your dad the one that gets it stuck in fields ? :doh

Ask your mum to help, that my advice. :clap

Have you got the old on off yet ? its simple to match it that way. Dont do anything rash till its off and you have posted us photos so we can have a look and advise you better.

And dont have ago at the seller yet, its your own fault for not sending the reg number to him.
