My 'Troll has developed an odd squawking noise (a bit like squeaking, but lower pitched).
It comes from the front nearside wheel area. It's a wheel speed noise - starts when you set off, repeats with wheel rotation - squawk squawk squawk squawk sort of thing. It doesn't happen when I reverse off the drive - only seems to happen moving forward. It can happen when moving in a straight line, but seems louder when on right hand lock (and especially in Tescos carpark after shopping!!). It only seems to happen at low speeds - disappears at much past walking speed. It doesn't happen all the time - sometimes it goes for a day or two with no squawking. It generally stops squawking after a few hundred yards - but sometimes starts again after a stop at the traffic lights. All I've done so far is remove the wheels and pressure wash around the brake calipers - no improvement.
I used to have an Isuzu Trooper and that developed a similar squawk. If I remember correctly, it resulted from brake disk wear. Changing the disks got rid of it.
Any ideas?
Andrew
