Yep - I've done it a few times. We went up with Dinky, Cosmic and Neil H that weekend at the Black Dog (?) I dashed off for fuel afterwards if you rememeber. We went up the hairpins.

Sorry thinking of wrong lane - but its still not closed.

It's not closed - it's always been a bridleway, but it almost certainly has historical vehicular rights. It is currently protected from NERC act extinguishment of vehicular rights by an outstanding pre NERC DMMO. ie pre NERC someone put in for it to be upgraded to Byway status but as NYCC haven't done anything with this the previous status of it being a bridleway and though having proveable rights. Normally any rights would have been lost but the definitive map modification order protects them.
