Will a 31" tyre fit with clearance on rear bumper ?

id say no mate, just measured my cover at 29" and theres less than an inch clearence. it might go with a bit of rubbing though, are your 31s actualy a true 31" diameter?
vince

Then you unbolt the door, turn it over and fix it on the other side - job done
:lol

See, my dad just had tyres on his l200 so he's given me 2 of the old BFG at's in 265/70/16 flavour, one has about 4mm on it

Gonna get it put on my spare as its better than the stock spare I have now which is a tiny 235 thing and it will look sweet rocking a bf Goodrich on the back door

I get a 265 75 16 mud tyre on mine and I haven't turned it round. Its tight but fits

How much higher does turning the carrier over give you?

I was just thinking the hitch on the caravan hits my spare wheel when I lift it to put it on and off, I wonder if turning the carrier over will help with that.

ah i didnt realise you could do that, not had a good look at mine without the wheel on

if you fit a wider wheel on the carrier it might foul the screen wiper, if so, put some shims (washers) on the 3 fixings before putting the wheel on.:thumb2

There is not a lot of thread for shimming out on the wheel side, I had to make up 2 x 1" square bars that sat between the carrier and the door for mine.

Mine fitted without turning the holder upside down

Oh no all the air will fall out:augie:augie:augie

Ah but you rotate the wheel so the valve is at the top... simples...:augie

Mind you with the OWL (lettering) I tend to fit it so that reads right, on the times I don't have the rear wheel cover on.

I thought I was the only sad person who did that sort of thing... It's like when I follow a 4x4, and they have the spare wheel cover upside down, or all wonky... it can't stand it....:banghead

Yes but it probably says....
