hi, i realise spacers are not to everyones taste and could possibly be a weak link while heavy off roading, i have no plans to do that but wanted a cheap way of making my trucks stance a little bit more purposeful.(after a test drive over the speed humps it is actually less bumpy too). i fitted 50mm spacers(£40 ebay), see pics b4 and aft , i like it anyway lol. getting some chunkier ATs next!

Looks great :) what size tyres u running ?

265 70 16 would be even sexier :D

thanks, ive got 235 70 16's on at mo, i may go upto 245 shortly, still looking
cheers. just want something a bit chunkier but not too mad lol.

With the spacers, it will put a much greater strain on the wheel bearings, as the point load is further away from the wheel bearing, thus increasing the upward force seen by the bearing. ( leverage effect).

So what effect will this have on bearing life?
Clearly shorter life, but by how much will depend on the spacer thickness, vehicle use etc.
So budget for doing this, and check for play more regularly.

Also note, the insurance company will see this as a Mod.:doh
So do check this out.

insurance companies see a sticker as a modification , i didnt tell them when i put my "46" stickers on and i wont be telling them now. when i crashed my vectra it had aftermarket alloys on, one was damaged, i hadnt declared aftermarket alloys, nothing happened. i see where you are coming from with the leverage angle, but thats nothing to worry about when you look at the bearing impacts these trucks get off road(mine wont be doing that). it'll be fine don't worry!

so your a rossi fan then:clap:thumb2 can you post the ebay item number for me please?

Lol ( they won't like that around here ) :D

oh gawd! they aint scalectrix fans...i mean f1 fans are they....oops :D
vince, theres loads on the old fleabay mate, i went for the 7 yr vynil ones but they are not official rossi as i couldnt see any bud. :thumb2

This is how mine sit 31" tyres no spacers would of liked a bit more width but plans have now gone to pot

i like the look but could that be a plod magnet, with the tread sticking out more than the wheel arch? i like the look of my alloys so decided not to change them hence t spacers. did you lift for 31's ?

Its actually perfectly inline with arches looks like it sticks out a little because of the way its parked lol wanted wider would of fitted extensions

Yes 2inch lift have still got the body lift to fit extra 2inch if the truck doesnt sell plans will be resumed but not till later this year

i wouldnt mind a lift but i regularly/daily commute my parents and they find it a bit of a step up as is, they have an antara ffs......:confused:
