source for sunroof replacement

Hello, my name is Máté and I just joined yesterday. Me and my 3 doors 1998 T2 2.7D are from Budapest.

Lately I started to do maintenance myself as I hardly trust the mechanics around here. I already like this site a lot, last night I browsed the topics for hours.

My first project is the sunroof which I took off (with the 4 screws) to see a potential reason for leaking (before I checked the drains too, they were ok). , I found now that the glass slightly came away from the metal frame at points. I'll try to seal it, but after all I'd prefer to replace this piece.

Would anybody know a source for sunroof replacement?

Hi Mate, my sunroof did exactly the same. I used a screwdriver to open the gap between the glass and the rubber seal. I then got some automotive sealer and put the nozzle between the rubber and the glass, then I found you could run the nozzle all the way around the glass and fill with the sealer. The sealer I used is sold in the UK as sicaflex, it is a thick black paste. I was advised at the time not to use Silicone Bathroom sealer as it contains acid that will corrode the metal parts.

I tried for a while to get hold of replacement sunroof glass and was told be everyone it is a dealer only product. Was quoted £700 plus vat from nissan for a replacement

Look here on UK ebay for a sunroof.....maybe he would post to Hungary if you ask him.
