Hi all, brought a Terrano a few weeks ago,its covered 110k runs spot on but i may have an issue when starting from cold,i only use her at weekends so stands all week in a barn,it starts no problem but there's alot of soot coming out and a lot of smoke(there's soot on the back wall off the shed behind the exhaust and its a bit damp as you can see the run in the soot)and she runs lumpy for 20 seconds or so then runs perfect after that and no smoke but there's plenty of soot in the exhaust,is there a problem that needs to be sort? I know you boys can help many thanks Pete

Mine does this to some extent. Make sure your glow plugs are good, or just put a new set in. Bin the EGR valve too as Mine was sticking and it left a 5mm thick oily sludge in the inlet manifold that caused blue smoke on startup and on boost.

I also had a split inlet manifold gasket and perished oring on throttle housing, the oring on throttle flap was bubbling under pressure, but I binned the whole flap assembly and filled holes with liquid metal
