Some beach action

Went onto the beach at Saltfleet, Lincs.
Had a brilliant few hours with the family. My blue LWB truck, brother-in-laws burgundy SWB and father-in-laws green LWB. My brother didn't make it in his LWB.
Our kids loved it too. There are loads if seal further up the beach (didn't drive near them lol).
Anyway, here's some pics.

Make sure you jet wash it well otherwise Beach Action will turn into Salt Action !!

Nice photo and sounds like fun but the salt would worry me. A real good jet wash off is called for.

You could do with driving through a fresh water ford to rinse it off too.

Sand will get everywhere
The power washer could force salt and sand into seals and the like.

Also between the double skinned floor at the rear of the truck, remember these trucks are vulnerable here from just road salt.
So a hose wash first, low pressure around seals etc would be my preferred choice.

10 minutes on the beach = 4 hours cleaning and washing.:doh:doh

The salt water will be in the sills, doors, behind the front and rear wheel arch trim, in the chassis, behind the bumpers.

In the winter to wash off road salt I often open the drivers doors and spray the hose pipe into the front wing area through the gap in the hinges, to rinse out the salt, also behind the plastic trims and behind the mud flaps.
Loads of grit and mud comes out.

Seeing your pictures reminded me of an incident back in 1975 when I was on holiday on the Isle of Man with the In-Laws we were in his Citroen Ami 8 Estate and had parked on a pebble beach.

When the tide started to come in we decided to move but the Citroen wouldn't it just dug in its front wheels. Ended up putting car floor mats under the front wheels and the final purchase was achieved by adding buckets of water to the dry sand to firm it up. We were well stressed as it took a good 10 minutes to get moving.

Never driven on sand since though I did drive over the lake of our local park during a harsh winter - think it was 1965 had just got my licence!

Citroen Top Gear ??

I think it was such a vehicle they had the dreaded dashboard mounted gear lever like the old 2CV but the brakes were powered by the suspension hydraulics so butting the windscreen was part of the deal until you got used to it !
