Soft A-Bar

Travelling along the M56 last week and I passed a Silver LWB T2 towing a caravan with what looked like a poly A Bar on the front, colour coded to match the car and with built in spots either side.

The A-bar came up as high as the number plate, and looked like it was moulded to the cars bumper.

Been trawling the internet to try find them for sale, but can only find full hight chrome tubular types.

Anyone know where you can get these from... looked really good, and probably more pedestrian freindly then a standard one.

Hi ive seen them too, but from what i remember it was part of the front bumper.

Zippy656, this was definatly an 'add-on' part, stuck out a couple of inches further then the standard bumper.... I got a good luck (despite travelling at 70+mph! :augie )
Shame I was on my way to a meeting.... could have followed him to his campsite to ask! :lol

Yeah i've got a soft A bar fitted to my MK2 T2 & Cosmic bought one almost 2 years ago for his MK3 T2:thumb2 I like the fact it add's extra depth to the front end but does'nt cause any probs off road unlike other A bars:thumbs:thumbs Becare full when hunting one down that it is for the mark yours is as they won't swop over:augie

Yer Paul332, thats like it, but this one was fitted to a MK5, looked a bit thicker down either side and had circular spots built into either side.
A bit like the standard bumper on the MK5 where it goes up to the grill... but chunkier (if that makes any sense!!!) :lol

Hello Big Black, think I have got what your looking for, I knew I had seen them before some where. www.formula4.co.uk had them for sale in there 07 catalog, they are made by leon and classed as pedestrian friendly lol.They also came with the 2 spot lamps moulded in. Back then with the lights and axle guard £379.00and were available for T2 mark 4. Hope that helps a little. Wish I could scan a pic for you, try doing a search. Cheers, Paul

I'd have thought with the changes in legislation manufactuers would be moving more towards these types.... oh well.... guess I'll have to keep scanning FleeBay!
