The problem with the T2/Mav is theres no A pillar to attach the snorkel to. The outside of the pillar is formed by the door window surround which butts up to the main windscreen so the snorkel has to be attached to the roof.

The chap who bought my old patrol, fitted it with a DIY snorkel, bits from B & Q on the cheap. If you look carefully on the nearside front wing /windscreen of this pic you can just about work it out.

there patrol was strugling for breath when pulled air filter out it was solid with sand ! high snorkel pick up hadnt saved it!

oh yes but they were in extreme weather! doubt well see sand storms etc!

you never know :!: we've had terrantial rain, tornadoes, sand storms next

if you watch the program closely they empty the filter of sand and THEN turn the head of the snokel around to face backwards rather than forwards.
i think they might have learnt their lesson ;-)

yes saw that! couldnt help but think now theyve took filter out some that sands gonna get into engine as housing was full aswell its gonna get pushed outve way when filter goes back in!
