Just a few pics of the start of my snorkel fitting, Decided to go below so I don't have to weld or mess about with the strength strut above.

I have squashed small section of the rubber tube to a oval shape to fit behind the wing.

Had to leave it at that as I need the vehicle tonight, Will continue tomorrow with making the hole in the wing and securing the aluminium tube that follow the window. Hopefully the rubber edge trim arrives so I can complete it over the weekend.

Nice & keep the picys coming :thumbs

But :augie :doh

If you put bigger tyres on at a later date  you may well rub against that snorkel in that position
I personally would of used the original hole or the 1 just behind to get the pipe / hose higher up in the wing ;) :augie

if you used the original hole or the one next to it the pipe would need to come pretty much straight out of the wing as the only other route to run it along would be in the area I cut the hole. I don't plan on going over 32" anyway.

I'm putting 32x11.50R15's Maxxis Buckshot's on Dirty Frog & MALATESTA KOBRA TRAC NT1 - 195/80R15's on Dirty Devil :sly :naughty :D :thumbs

Done a bit more today after the edge trim arrived. Had to do the worse part cutting the slot in the wing so the tube can come out. With a bit of planning and guessing it went much better than I expected.

Put a bit of tiger seal on to hold it in place better.

I just just cut a circle hole then cut the top out with the angle grinder then cut extra off if needed. Then retry the fit, Then cut a bit more if needed.

Getting there :thumbs

Very close to how I'm gonna do Dirty Devil :sly :naughty :thumbs

very well, I am waiting for a 45 degree pvc pipe elbow to bring the snorkel intake to a better angle because without it faces too much towards the sky.

I've made the brackets ready to secure the snorkel pipe to the side of the windscreen. Put a few riv-nuts in too to ready secure the brackets.

Hopefully the 45degree elbow arrives any day now.

I know this is a Land Rover bais site but the snorkle is advertised as universal
http://www.rebel4x4.co.uk/raised_air.htm

think they mean landrover universal, Can't be universal for all vehicles. :lol

My snorkel vent is for a landrover, Thats why the angle is wrong. But hopefully 45degrees should make it better and not look too weird.

Pics of what sort of angle it will run at on the vehicle, You can see the intake facing up too much.

Brackets, Still not 100% finished.

Fez, if that's plastic drain pipe you're using, then you can carefully heat it up a bit. As you do so feel the strength suddenly go and at that point slowly bend it and take the heat away. Don't do too much at a time or it'll fold, but does work a treat :D

it's aluminium drain pipe, The elbow should work well enough and still look slick.

45degree elbow still not arrived, Pissing me off now.

It arrived so got on doing a bit more.
To be perfect it should of been a few degrees off 45. But should look good once painted.

Might have to add a third bracket in the middle on the other side of the tube as it wobbles a bit if knocked.
