My patrol already has a second battery, so it could be optional and so not be an insurance issue
Check with your insurance company, that's the reason why my T2 still has a standard single battery.

So Next month insurance is due.....
So does anyone know an insurance company that will allow it, then I can fit it ....:nenau :nenau
I made up all the bits for mine, tray / clamp, cables, relay in the form of a starter solenoid, so on selection, the second battery could be used to assist start the Mav from a push button switch inside.
BUT I never fitted it.......... because after checking with my insurance company they said is was a NO NO !!!
So Next month insurance is due.....
Well, I convinced my CURRENT insurance company that I could fit a second battery, so I dug out all the bits and I shoe horned an identical sized battery on the passenger side.
I used a new ( ebay) starter solenoid from a 70's series BL car controlled via a button in the car, to pull in the second battery IF the original one finds the going tough.
I have also fitted a 40 amp relay on the rear of this that connects when the ignition is on, or the engine is running BUT NOT during the actual sting cycle, as it would burn out the 40 Amp relay.
So the second battery gets charged when the engine is running.:thumb2
And here is a pic of the installation, you can see the solenoid to the left of the battery.
Best regards, Rustic
