Sat Nav

Just bought a 2003 Terrano 11. It has a bird view sat nav system fitted but the monitor has been removed by the previous owner (dash mounted). It should be a 5.8 inch one. Struggling to source a replacement. Can anyone help please?

if when you say monitor you mean just the display screen is missing, look to see if was wired with std connections, if so you should easily find a replacement on ebay or the like, it does not have to be the same make, brand just the right fittings.

All the connections etc are there and its the display screen that is missing. I looked at the connection and its for a TDK screen. Everything else is there including a 2015 disc!

I tried that German eBay site but couldn't contact the buyer! I'll look for suitable screen as suggested

I have tried to find a Tft monitor to fit this connection. Maplin said is manufacture specific so need to try an original screen for it. I have emailed various breakers but no joy as yet.

OK how about another tack. Look on your V5 and find the name and address of last owner of the truck. Write to them and ask them if they can shed any light on brands or where to get the monitor.

Might just work you never know.

Good point, its probably sitting in his garage ?.

failing that if it was me I would just rip it out & start afresh with an after market one.

Is it built into the dash or a bolt on thing? I think the make may be xanavi.

Thnaks for the replies. The chap I bought it from said it was already removed before he got it. Its not an import. It is the original Birdview Xanavi that was fitted new and the user hand book is with the car. I can't understand why it was removed really! I'm not too bothered as have a tom tom. Just be nice to have the orginal equipment working.

It's not original Nissan but the selling dealer may have fitted it so if the original book pack is still there there may be a name and number of the dealer to contact if they're still in business of course.

It is a Nissan branded handbook but yeah you are probably right. I'll try that option next. Knowing dealer prices I doubt it'll be cheap!

Xanavi is what nissan is still using though I think, think they have them in 350z, gtr and primera etc..

I did try the dealer and they were not much help. I have emailed a few breakers.

they got every known plug plus wiring diagrams, if you can work out what it is you may be able to get or make a adaptor
