got one from my mate Jack, came off a volvo 740 estate his dad had then scrapped, the guy who owned the volvo before them was a professional carpenter, got the roof rack for nothing since a put a lot of parts into jacks sportrak:D

roof rack is strong, made out of Swedish oak and has been coated in teak oil so wont rot,, a lot of work has gone into it as its build stupildy well,

had to mod it a bit so the cross bars fit as it was a different mounting system on the Volvo, also i'll be fitting padded wood blocks in the middle that'll rest against the rails so it can support more weight, but its really strong and doesn't even bend:D, will use it for carrying off-road equipment, bikes basically anything that wont fit inside :lol also might fit huge lights to it:thumb2

will get better pics when rain stops

Just one thing to beware off.... you are making the vehicle much taller...watch the height barriers, especially if you put lights up on it...

I have 6 Cebie Super Oscars I wanted to put up on my roof bar, but it would have stopped me being able to fit in any of the local car parks, with my current set up putting the light bar as close to the roof as possible, and using rectangular spots, I am at 6foot 4inch, and most of our car parks are 6'6", so I just clear. O can't get into the 6' one in Crawley, which cased an issue, and the height is not shown until you are already committed. to going in. Luckily I could cross the in/out divider as the car behind was too stupid to reverse up.

Cheers, aye the carparks around here all seem to be limited to about 4 meters so my truck doesn't fit anyway:doh but I'll measure it:thumb2

4 metres, should be able to get two stacked one on top of the other.

Just over 13 feet, what are you going to be carrying on that roof rack?:doh

Oh unless you were going to go in vertically, then I see your problem.

New driver, can't handle the power and keeps pulling wheelies, when he pulls away... :lol

Could be wrong then, even in the meriva, has a close shave with most carparks around here. It's like they are designed with 4X4s out the question:doh
