is their a roof rack that fits the mav correctly

and are the roof bars bolted into the roof or fitted a different way ?

If you havent got any

Go down ya local breakers or ebay & get some from another Ford / Nissan or Mitsy Shogun / Pajero

To fit

Just pull the roof lining to 1 side to drill the holes, job done :thumbs

I know it may be different, but I had roof bars for my renault scenic which fitted by clamping onto the door frame tops with rubber pads under the feet, when I took them off after about 1 month they lifted the lacquer from the paint work. they were proper Renault kit....

Rhino Sportz racks

I went Rhino Sportz racks for my terrano.
Quite versatile.

They use a permanently mounted roof track which is steel pop riveted to the roof, using lots of black silicone to waterproof the holes ( and a real short drill!)
The the two rails slide into the tracks and lock down with the supplied allen key.

On top of these two rails I have a short roof rack which bolts to the rails when I need it on-

I've just bought two more 1 mtr lengths of roof rack to mount over the front seats position, and am designing a full length custom rack which will bolt straight to the tracks instead of using the two rails. Height can be a problem on some of the tracks I use, so I will create slide in storage for my maxtracks under the rack area, with flat storage above. doing away with the two rails will allow me to gain about 60-70mm of extra storage height without increasing overall height.

I'm currently reading about designing strong but light welded joints with steel, so if anybody has a suggestion or two I would welcome it!
