Hi all .I have a 1999 2.8 lwb patrol diesel, lifted with big wheels. Green laning is what I like to do and this 4x4 makes it a pleasure.

now the old girl is having a front axel rebuild axel sripped sand blasted and painted and rebuilt with new baerings and seals etc. this is to get ready for a coast to coast trip in june. has anyone done a feul pump conversion on a y61 to a y60 fuel pump and is it a good idear? I will see if I can get a youg person to put some pictures on as soon as she is back together.

Hi and welcome :)

Yes, it is most definitely a very good idea to change over to the mechanical pump.

Electronic injection pump can be a problem in older trucks with hot starting issues being a symptom.

You will also with the conversion move from a fly by wire throttle to a conventional wire which is another massive benefit when in low box where you should loose that jerkiness on throttle response.

Tuning will also benefit as its a mechanical tune of the pump rather than soldering in a tuning box. Much better to play about with.

One of the best upgrades for a Y61 2.8

Get it done :thumbs
