Hi Banshee,i bought it from a friend of mine it's french make can't remember the company they also does water separators, 12v -60w i think bi-metal strip and a set of points inside the tube.
rustygates.

Fitted 12v fuel heater

I hope you have fitted a suitable fuse for the heater circuit, as your cabling is very exposed, and vulnerable to damage, especially as it crosses metal brackets.

:augie

Hi Rustic, the cabling and the fuse came with it 10amp,the white cable you see in the photo is an earth which i have now rerouted to an earth point closer, another cable runs to the altenator light cable so it only heats the fuel when ign is on

Started by removing front wheels, removed calipers and pads and cleaned sliders.2 new bf goodrich fitted 235/70-15d . removed trim from front wings and under wing plasic cleaned and painted front wing then sprayed u/seal.disconnected battery and removed front seats to repair broken wire(airbag light) removed light cluster to renew bulbs then back to front hub to remove worn top ball joint.
Renewed top ball joint and fitted wheels and new tyres, unable to get panel lights to work i bought pack of led's 3 of them don't even fit will sort it out, moved to rear wheels and i have a leak on rear wheel cylinder offside, saturated brake shoes and one lining come away from the shoe itself, have got full set of shoes from years ago, never used, i have ordered new brake cylinder.

I have heard of the rear brake lining material separating from the shoe and jamming up the rear drum, thus locking it, you were very lucky.:doh

So can I assume that the brake fluid has broken down the adhesive within the shoe, or maybe excessive heat?

They could of course be a sub standard manufacturer... :doh:doh

Doesn't worth thinking about...

Hi rustic, I'm assuming that's what happened, the light on the panel came on and when i checked fluid level it was down, but it has saturated everything inc as you say destroyed the adhesive bring back the riveted shoes i say.bought new brake cylinder for £13.00 ebay

that happened to me going down the a1 at 75mph, scaird the life out of me at first, I didn't know what was going on! one minute I was driving along with the mrs in the car and next thing BANG, SCREECH, clould of smoke, arse end of the truck all over the place, alot of bad language and finally came to a stop! just lucky there wasn't anything behind us, could have been a different ending if there was a lorry up my arse

52plate

I was lucky. Stripped down and painted ready for wheel cylinder and new shoes.
