Those would probably do it well enough, I'm doing my best to learn slowly what works best without investing too much money, I think I want to produce my own Bio eventually.

I'm thinking on getting 2 of those 2000w ones and just dangling them in and just keep testing the temperature, I've messaged the guy on eBay to ask him what temperature these go to.

I've also been to ToolStation and Screwfix today and had a look at some of the immersion heaters there but these all require wiring up and on their own they are like £10-£15, then you have the cost of wiring and plugs after that, I'm definitely thinking of investing in 2 of those portable ones

Diesel is for pussies lol, and plus isn't the Maverick just a Terrano under all the badges? every electrical/mechanical part I've messed with says Nissan on it lol

I use a old copper hot water cylinder to heat my oil in. Saves on electric if you get an insulated one
. Search graham laming in Google have a look at his site quite useful with some good pictures and ideas he mainly does biodiesel but the initial principle is the same

Yep cant see the point in messing with heating up oil cost a fortune in electric then do your diesel pump in .you can buy a lot of diesel for the price of a diesel pump:lol

Fair point depends on cost of the used oil. I get mine for free so I reckon less than 5p per liter I only do a batch when I'm working in the garage so time not a big factor. So for me worth it

How much is an IP as WVO is very cheap per L when you get it either free or a couple a quid for 20L. Been running my old girl on a mix of WVO and clean SVO for the last 5K miles and at the hideous fuel consumption these old ladies have, assuming an average saving of 50p per litre from pump prices, over £500 saved.

Only paid £800 in the first place for the whole vehicle so, in my mind, worth the risk.

I've had a reply back from my guy in Hong Pong and he informs me that they heat to about 80-90 degrees so 2 of those dangled in should be perfect

Might order them now and get them before Christmas lol

Excellent, might end up getting one too if I go ahead and build my biodiesel reactor, I'll need a way to liquefy that thick 'whites' that I'm slowly collecting.

It'll also mean you can brew a cuppa in yer shed if you don't mind a wee oil slick on top!

Hahahaha I get the gunky white grease too its horrible, at the moment I'm currently scraping it out of the bed sheet with a plant pot and throwing it into another container which I then just bin

Collect the thick grease and whites and then try and swap it for a (lesser) quantity of runny oil from someone local that makes bio, VOD forum is a good place to try and find a suitable swapies partner.
