had a nice easy job lined up today, changing the front flexi section on the exhaust.sheared 2 out 3 of the bolts on the bottom of the turbo housing.so it needs to come off so i can drill them out and fit new ones.have lost my manual when the hard drive died on the pc and cant get the one on here to open any page other than the first one.
any one got any advise on what to look out for apart from the obvious shearing bolts:doh

I do not have a flexi section on mine but the exhaust manifold is easy enough to remove, no turbo though, Rick

think elty is talking about his new tdi. not his petrol that is still showing in his vehicle details

Mine did the same thing yesterday when it was at the local tyre dealers getting my new exhaust - he says he took off the end piping of the turbo to get the last broken stud out.
Glad I didnt takle it myself now on the front drive or I would hve been in big trouble! Lucky its a small private affair and the boy is a fully trained mechanic that runs it so it wasnt a problem for him. oh and exhaust cost £190 complete and fitted - hows that for a price??as it was a Bosal exhaust he got me

that was my plan but there isn't enough room to just slide the end peice off as it hits the bulk head before its clear of the studs.
will have a look in a bit at what my next move is.

it is my tdi i'm on about not the petrol, will change my avatar and details to avoid any confusion.

Beat that price on exhaust easily £116 fully fitted for a bosal exhaust,D&D Tyres in Doncaster.Option of little silencer on back or without £10 more.so that makes it £126.JD
