So I've been a bit quiet of late as these past few months have nearly seen me off :(

These things come to test us though and I hope things are on the turn now!!!

So the engineer came out to see me at work the other day to assess the damage to the car and I've now got the official paperwork through confirming that the car is now a CAT C write off.

Parts and Labour was estimated to come to £2041 which included;

Back Door
Window
Interior Plastics
Seals
Windscreen Wiper Arm and Motor
Spare Wheel Bracket
Spare Wheel and Alloy
Gearbox repair
Air Bag light reset

They have determined that my car was worth £965 and have told me I can retain the car for a salvage value of £164 which I will be doing as I have sooooooo many new bits on it it's untrue which will all be coming off and any other spares will be coming out and being sold at which point I'll be either scrapping it in or selling the rolling chassis as I sh*t you not it is immaculate!!!!!!! probably in better nick than the 04' that I've just brought

So tonight I'm off to collect my new to me 04' Terrano SE Commercial
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281427902...l?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=281427902341&_rdc=1

Tax and Test until April next year, brilliant condition all around, few little niggles but all very easy fixes, i think it may need a new rad but at £2000 down from £2600 I'm not going to moan :D

Just need to figure out how I transfer back to the original plate as it currently has "RUI 3686" and the original is LM04 CTZ, do you reckon I'll get much for the private plate?

That plate is Northern Ireland number so not worth much very simaler to mine RUI 8163 and I only paid £40 for mine think they are about £55 now but unless someone wants that number then not worth the trouble to sell.

They are good plates for hiding vehicles age as there is no year indicator on these.

I have had my plate for years and it is known by all my friends it is personal to me but not obvious just the first two letters RU are also the first two letters of my name RUSSELL and then the I 8163 that is left needs the I which is the same character on number plates as the number one moved one position to the right to give my date of birth 8-11-63

Kind regards

Russell.

Looks a nice tidy motor, what's the underside like?

Nice & all your mods will swap over plus you'll have spares:thumbs

So, I found out today that the chap who I was getting the injector from, with a needle lift sensor attached to it, which has done less than 1k miles since being refurbished has got a different injector to mine.

I need a number 1 injector complete with working sensor from the type with hex bolt fittings and rubber leak off pipes. If you're pulling your old motor apart is there any chance I could have a couple of bits from you?

Ah :(, I didn't expect that :doh I've seen RUI ones for £600-£800 on eBay :nenau

I def want to swap the Reg back

Underside is good, no welding, surface rust on a few bits but nothing structural, will sand down and Waxoyl first job

You know this :thumb2

Of course matey :D I need to wait for the payout first as until that point I've been told that the car is untouchable

Do you Mav front wings fit a 2001 T2 :augie

Thanks Banshee, just let me know when you're able to do so. Hopefully yours are the same type as mine.
I'm going to try just swapping out the MAF and see if that clears that code.
Have it booked in with a chap on Tuesday morning to get the front chassis welded up.
Might be interested in the centre steering drag bar or some such as the rubber boot has perished on one end of mine and the crank position sensor.

The new one does look nice. Glad your finally getting sorted Banshee

Nope the wings are different on the pre 2000 models as the front indicators were down in the front bumper so the wings came around to meet the headlights unlike on yours where the indicators are next to the front lights:thumbs Think Nissan changed the wings again in 2004 as i'm sure i've read the holes for the side repeaters are different

where do you get the 3 letters 4 number plates from? im after one! :thumbs

Just had a better look at the pic's & it looks very tidy:thumb2 & it's got the rarer black trim & carpet with the silver centre dash like mine:D oh & you have a nice single din stereo with the surround so that'll make changing your stereo nice & easy but the ISO connection plugs are different from the pre 2000 models so you will need a new patch cable if you change your stereo:thumbs

Still need you to pm me your address for these shiny washers for your shiny new motor :thumb2
Looks very nice.

Nice motor Banshee, well done, now the work will start making it your very own with modding and your own stuff back on....a great project......:thumb2

Ahh, good year that, I had my birthday yesterday :thumbs

Sorry Rick I thought I'd replied to this

I'm OK I think mate, the car has lots of other issues and to be honest I think it's better I start again, the engine is eating more oil than fuel and tapping its balls off, I'm starting to get lacquer peel on the bonnet and roof, I've got a few age related dents and scuffs, the inside is shabby and dirty, the list could go on.

I think I'm going to strip whats good and sell/scrap the rest

It is a real shame as the chassis is the cleanest one I've ever seen for it's age I'm even considering ripping the body off and selling the chassis as it has been waxoyled from new and I've done it every year since I've had it and it's mint

I'll do that now mate

It's kinda nice to start again on a blank canvas that's in good nick but I'm still sick to the insides that Marvin is now scrap, he looked after me and served me well
