Anyone use the stuff? Does it do anything good? Does it do anything bad? Cheers.

When I put it in mine it did fell better after. More responsive. I do tend to use the better fuels as well once I had a clean out with redex.

Tend to stay away from city diesel ect and use the high grade diesel

Couple of litres of ATF in the tank one a month at fill up will do the same if not better job.

What do you mean better fuels?

If you use supermarket fuels you will find you don't get the same MPG the engine doesn't run as smooth than when you use , BP, Shell, Esso etc.

Fuel has to meet a minimum standard (spec) and the cheap stuff is probably just up to standard.

The supermarket stuff is made by the big oil refiners, but they've all got there own recipies:nenau

I find that when I use the better fuels, I get slightly more MPG and the engine runs, better. I'm not saying it runs 3p or 4p a litre better but its more noticable when I'm towing my van.

:)

I findI get better mpg on Bio diesel than on dino, touch more power too. The cheaper bio places aren't as good but my usual place use a bio specific additive (i've seen em adding it and tialed it direct into my tank before they started using it) and its definitly seems to work.

Have heard good things about the Miller diesel additive, meant to be well worth using.

Occasionally I run a bottle of Add it diesel cleaner through, more for piece of mind than anthing, not sure I get any noticeable improvement but it might help and I get it at trade anyway so what the....

I put two stroke oil in my terrano, it does seem to have a bit more power towing or perhaps the wind was behind me! Only on my second tank full so its early days to decide anything.

how much?

No, no smoke. I thought there would be but there isnt. 300ml to 80l helps lubrication with low
sulphur fuels or so I'm told bri

i use Shell Optimax in my beemer and it makes a significant difference compared to bog standard unleaded...:clap

i also have heard about the lube benifits of chucking a bit of oil in yer tank from a injection specialist, coz that is all the additives are.

I had forgotten I had added the two stroke oil until I read this post. I put it in some time ago,
but we have just returned from a caravan trip to east coast yorkshire which is a cross country ride up hill and down dale. I did remark to my wife how well the car was towing as we sailed up hills and I did make the remark that the wind must be behind us! maybe not perhaps it was the oil. I did a tank full to tank full test with the caravan on from scarbough
to kendal cross country no motorways and about four miles of dual carriageway......24.4mpg

Yes we put optimax or bp ultimate in Ali's scooby now and again. Reset the ECU so it can relearn the new fuel and it really makes a difference.

All these additives, be it millers, redex or 2 stroke oil all cost money taking the price per litre up:lol

I've been known to use BP ulitmate when towing the caravan and it does make a difference:thumbsdon't think its worth the extra 10p a litre though:doh

I've also used miller diesel power sport stuff when using supermarket fuel and it helps, but its not cheap:doh.

what bugs me is if bp ultimate or shell optimax is better, all fuel should be like that as standard:naughty all they do is stick a bucket of the stuff in the tanker and its ultimate or optimax etc.

your right:thumb2

A few years back I watched them put the lead in 4 star and it was like a military operation and the guy how put the stuff in looked like he was ready to go on the space shuttle. :lol
