Rear wiper on constantly...

Well, sort of. PO had removed the Rear wiper arm as it keeps going - sometimes.

Unless I'm very unlucky (entirely possible at the moment) it's not the relay - tried another and no different.

What happens is: with ignition key in accessory position, works fine on intermittent and off. Parks and everything. Ditto ignition on but engine not running. Once you start the engine it remains parked while switched off. However turn in on - either intermittent or full on and then off and it just keeps going until the ignition is switched off again when it stops.

Repeat and fade.

Have checked live to relay position and get two constant lives with engine running - no difference between switch positions. Have not checked with ignition off though... Will do so.

Anyone have any ideas? Would be nice to be able to see out of back when it rains...

Smells to me like a faulty ignition switch or could be the stalk assembly itself

Now doesn't seem to be that regular - sometimes works with ignition on, sometimes doesn't. Now into trial and error.

Anyone have any ideas where I might get a wiper stalk? Tried eBay and nothing... Mine's on the left.

I also spotted mention that it could be the motor - dodgy park positioning - anyone reckon that could be worth a try? Motor and arm on eBay... I need an arm anyway if I get it fixed...

I've heard of similar problems with the front wipers on these. Apparently theres a constant live to keep the wipers running until they reach park. Some kind of switch that is turned off when they reach the park position. Could always meter out the wires going to the rear wiper motor and see if there is a constant live.

Just reading between the lines, if it should have a permanent live, and it won't stop once started, there's always the chance that some minkey has previously been playing with the wiring following a previous problem and now it is wired incorrectly.
