Rear washer - not!

My front screen washers work fine but rear one doesn't wash. Before I start taking panels off, does anyone know if the rear washer on an '03 LWB 3ltr T2 has a separate pump or does it use the same one as the front washers, with fluid being piped to the rear?

well my 2002 2.7tdi lwb has a seperate pump for the rear... they are both in the bottom of the washer resevoir, next to one another....

Just a thought as i did my 97 mav rear wash the other day, there is a 1 way valve in the top of the rear door which you will have to remove the top & side trim. Disconnect the pipe from the jet then go fishing into the top left corner of the door to find the pipe. When you pull it out you will see the valve in line. Mine was found to be clogged up with crap. If your gentle and steady handed you can split the valve but watch out as there is a small ball bearing and a spring. Take apart, clean and refit. But check the pump runs first if it does check the filter on the pump.

while we are on the subject, stupid question but does anyone know if the bonnet jets are generic? I'm sick of trying to unblock the ones on my Micra Supercar....:augie

Hi LC and thanks for your heartfelt sympathy!!! I've just come back from the reeeeeeeally sunny Caribbean so cold wet rain in 'sunny France' ain't bl00dy funny.

But at least it's not snowing

Thanks Jimmy Jaffa for the heads up on the one way valve and filter for the rear washer. Looks like I'll have to put the truck in the garage and get the gas heater going.
