guys, ive been trying to resolve the leaking rear door for a while. Ive done all the methods of sealing etc and this has improved things. However, I still have a leak, one that I cant quite trace. I noticed a while back that my rear door seems to sit out a bit more on the lock side, so the door doesn't sit flush with the body - on the hinge side it does. I get the impression that somehow the door isn't quite shutting right, and this is the probably cause of my leak (that and lazy door rubber).

Could I be on the right track, do I need to adjust something to get the door to sit much more flush on the lock side?

:bow

is they no ajusment on the bit what clamps? get a spare catch and bend it

The door latch on the O/S of the boot will prob need adjusting in further. Run a bit of tape top & bottom of the latch so you know what height to set in to the undo the 2 large screws on the latch & move it towards the inside of the boot by about 5mm, tighten up the screws & check how the rear door closes & see if it's more flush with the body

cheers buddy, ill give that a try!

just been out for a look. I put a piece of tissue paper over the plastic kick plate near the lock side, and a piece near the hinge side to try a gauge where the water was getting in. ON the lock side, the tissue was soaked, hinge side dry. I can see water pooling in about three places if I look from the outside up to the rubber, so I assume the rain is getting in there in bits, perhaps helped by the wind. I am hoping now that some adjustments as Sweety suggests will tighten up the seal on that side - fingers crossed!

Mine leaked badly with door fitting right so put new rubber seal on door this worked. Hope adjustment works for yours clive.

that looks like the same place as mine leaked . I tried everything from sealing the kick plate too running sealant along the top seal on the body and nothing work and then I adjusted the door catch and reseated the door seal on the top because the door seal wasn't in the groove on the top of the door and I hasn't leaked since
