Hi again all,

I have been brain storming with a few guys at work about my symptoms.

at first i thought it was just occasional clutch slip, but when testing it yesterday it seems it will NOT do it in a straight line atall :nenau, only when going round corners :nenau

I can plant my foot to the ground in a straight line and it pulls like a train...

I was also on a big gravel bed with the front end pointed in the air and the revs were going but no drive to any of the wheels (or didnt feel like it anyway)

A few guys here suggest either clutch slip or LSD slip? what do you think??

I also did the 5th gear handbrake test which worked perfectly and immediately stalled.

if i go speedy speedy round a corner i can get it to rev up quite a bit :nenau

Forgot to mention, all fluids are fresh and correct including all new clutch parts (slave, master, hose ect) :thumb2

hi alex, have you tried it in reverse,on full lock? rear diffs tend to grumble in this position if a problem in that area. mike.

well, when mine needed an oil changed it was a definate clunk clunk clunk sound/feel to it. i would imagine if the rear diff is slipping at a point in the cogs it will show up or be extra smooth?? try it both ways. may not show any results but worth a go. good luck.

Cool I will give this a go, I must stress its a "clutch slip" symptom but just don't understand why it's temperamental when it pulls in a straight line. Swerving round a semi pulled out car or similar can trigger this "slip" :doh

I will also report hopefully tonight if I get to drive her :thumb2

Or in a nutshell I'll just get 1 new diff 1 new clutch and a new gearbox :augie

Rear diff cannot slip as such it is solid gears so clutch or wheels slipping. Rick

Sorry cannot watch vid not enough gb left this month, only just logged on as doing it on my phone, what is tapatalk, is it any good on my galaxy, Rick

Don't waste your mbs on it, it's a video of me going around in circles backwards :lol

shorts... in this weather :augie
there was a slight whine but no more than most cars do in reverse. both wheels were turning fine too with no obvious clunking that i could make out :nenau
if it was only happening in bends may i throw out a suggestion? check gearbox oil level, could oil be being thrown onto the clutch plate/flywheel?
there is extra resistance in bends so an lsd would be under more strain than in a straight run, have you tried 4wd on a straight run to check results?

I had one four wheel drive incident on Saturday. My front end was on a high mount and I wanted to climb a little more so I gave it gas and it didn't move, just revved. No wheels spinning from what I could tell.

This is very strange:confused: the no drive up the little bank you didn't knock the 4WD lever into neutral did you ?

Ney because I then used reverse :doh

The thought crossed my mind though.

Sorry to be rude I must go to sleep,up early.

Thanks a lot for e replies. I'm sure we can suss it.

Not like she's not running well anyway

can you undo the sandwich plate between the gearbox and the bell housing.....

the reason i ask you to undo the plate as if the joins and drain are filled with crud/dirt/silt/mud it wont let any liquid drain out.

If your other thread is anything to go by if you are losing oil i suspect your rear main seal and the clutch is bathing in it.

Hmm this may sound daft but could you of put the 4wd lever in to neutral perhaps?

Could the slip just be the rear wheels slipping whilst turning, try changing rear diff oil as it won't do any harm.
