ive allways used the standard horn on my terrano when needed but recently ive had few cars lane change last min almost colliding into my drivers wing:doh an old dear cut me up never heard my terrano peep sound horn so ive decided to re connect the air horns :lol

Good man :D
You can't beat a big horn :sly
For best effect get one of those train horns :naughty

They are great especially when its a 20 ton coach THAT MAKES EM TAKE NOTICE but mine are proper air operated ones.

thanks for reminder, we were cut up towing last year and said at time the
factory horn is ok, just, but boy wouldnt a bigger truck horn make the
idiots sit up.

felt the horn as is didnt cover the safe braking distance of the outfit, so
need a main beam quality horn versus the dipped version as fitted....

Funny that, I have just fitted a new set of horns to my new Terry, I think for such a big car, the original horn on them is bloody pathetic.
So I invested just under £8 and bought a set off of ebay, fitted them today and wow, what a difference...knob head drivers, look out:augie:thumb2

When I packed up trucking in the 70's I transferred my Haddley Air horn to my Hillman Hunter Estate, but it was powered by a propane gas bottle and a spark igniter, many times my mate and I relished in the fact that stupid people walking out in front of us got real heavy blast and flames to boot, Ah the good old days, Rick

yes there working now ....PURE BLAST ! i feel the same for such a big truck tiny sounding horn , perfect for a smart car:lol

My '94 T2 has twin horns, but even they were pretty pathetic, so when one packed up I also bought a pair from eBay - £4.99 plus postage!. They're what I think are called snail trumpet horns, dead easy to fit, just had to remove the grille, and they are LOUD, similar sound to the old Lucas Windtones of the 50's & 60's.

Our last terrano was the same, a pathetic peep peep, the new Terrano was worse still and it only had one horn
The one's I bought off ebay are the snail shape and boy are they better:clap:clap

i agree as standard the horns are not very good so i fitted the stebil nautilus compact, sounds like they belong on a truck..... i also fitted on the wifes daewoo matiz, and that definatly sounds out of place, LOUD give the mot tester a giggle too. go on click on the link and click on the high quality horn symbol.....oh turn your speakers up first, lol
