I was thinking the other day, as you do! How do people with multiple cars insure their motors.

I subscribe to car mechanic and practical classics - and people claim to have 4-5+ cars in their fleet. At £250 per car approx each for insurance (or more), surely they don't insure them individually? Is there such a thing as group insurance that covers any car you drive?

And.... what's the craic with trade plates.

I often wonder how people afford it!!! Not sure I'd be able to.

I know Admiral do the MultiCar thing now (I've seen enough adverts), not sure if other outfits do the same?

i have mine all on a motor traders insurance £705 a year fully comp and includes social and domestic use even declaring 1 non fault and 1 fault accitdent and a speeding conviction to

if i did the 1999 terrano with adrian flux they wanted £550 fully comp inc club discount and 9years protected bonus for it on its own when i insured with them a year ago i paid £320 fully comp i questioned them about why it had gone up and was told they do not deal with the isurance company any longer and cannot do the cheap 4x4 insurance scheme any more so i said i will leave it and so i now have five currently on mine for the £705 a year and i can update my vehicles online via the mid web site so no charges when i add or remove vehicles :thumb2

What's the traders policy company called ? My son could do with that ;)
I have all my cars on specialist policies . Cortina classic, Vito camper, Terrano special, all on no NCD but the MX5 is std policy type using NCD . What's the cover like for modified vehicles ?

what classifies as a trader in order to get a trader policy?

Haven't insured my truck yet, but getting £240 from Hastings - zero NCD - non modified. (that NCD as sham anyway!! - don't get me started!!)

I have 3 motors at home, but can't really call any of them specialised (vectra/astra/terrano), and they cost approx £800 in total on individual policies. Was just wondering if there i a better way. That's with the Vectra and Astra on Full NCD. Rubbish!!

I'm not sure the multi-car policies are worth the paper they are written on in relation to discounts, although happy to be proved different!

I tried multicar policies but they dont even know what a cortina is let alone cover heavily modified 4x4 :lol
The few quotes I did muster were way more than individual ones I already had :nenau
Then the there's the bother of all the dates being different.
I can only drive one at a time :doh

the traders policy is with EUNA via executive insurances 01323444999i dealt with aimee all they ask is proof of trading and belive it or not it is cheaper declaring full time trader than partime trader :nenau just need to send some copys of reent buisnes ie parts receipt etc :thumb2

If you have a trade insurance set up, I assume you must use a set of trade plates, for every car movement, otherwise as each car will not have it's own insurance, expect to be pulled for having no insurance at every opportunity.:augie

no trade plates used when you get your motor trade insurance you get a user name and password to the motor insurance database where you input your vehicle details then that vehicle is covered and insured from the time you put it on the trade insurance until i remove it i have never had a problem plus you have the certification thats shows anything in your custody or control is covered

Regards,
Dan.

adrian flux could not give me a decent quote for my truck and the person i spoke to was not bothered in helping me in any way which is why i decided to renew my motor trade insurance this year when i mentioned being a member of this club did not make any difference one the price he quoted me either :nenau
