Can you steam them up with a cup of hot water below them on a cold day, then turn heated Rear Screen on and see what happens.

Jim

Ta for the replies, the switch on ours is not working going to replace it now then..:D

Paul, is it defo the switch? Don't expect the switch to latch on and then press again to unlatch cos it don't. Same with the bulbs in the switch they are quite common to go. Check fuses and find the relay as well.

Jim,
Had the switch in bit's (like you do) :augie
part of one of the contacts as worn out (looks like someone as had a go at it ) :doh
If it only worked on the rear window I was going to just forget about it, but as it also works with the mirrors going to get one from ebay like you do. ;)

Any one separated the heated mirrors from the heated rear screen, put in a separate switch etc ?
It’s a job I have been considering but never have got around to looking at.

Makes it clear now m8, hope you get one soon.

Jim

Makes it clear..:jump:jump (Sorry Jim) :D

I was thinking of leaving the existing system to demist the back window and add another on/off switch and relay to work the heated mirrors separately, not looked in to it, so not sure how much work is involved .It may need a thermal cut out in the circuit as well

Just like to be able to control it separately, the rear window doesn’t often need demisting, but the heated mirrors are handy when the lenses are wet if you get my drift.

God the penny has only now dropped for me, talk about getting slower as you get older

Thats what I can't get my head round, wouldn't be able to use the one already fitted without not being able to use the heated rear window, only other way would be to use a timer to run the h/mirrors.

Your thoughts??
