99% of the time its fine, just when going round right handers, sometimes it goes all noisey and heavy, and vibrates through the wheel, like there's no fluid in it, which of course, there is.

Any known faults, like pump or rack ?

Air in the system:nenau

Try adjusting the power steering belt up as its probably slipping slightly on lock, that would produce the symptoms you have. That's how mine was, fine on the straight and slight bends but any tight turns it slipped.:thumb2

yeh, did belt the other week when i checked banjo filter

Could be a small leak and it's on your belt :augie
Worth a check again though eh :D

aye, it must have a leak or sommit

You just reminded me - I had this problem which happened either first thing in the morning straight after starting off or leaving from work - the steering was stiff for about 5 seconds then normal - especially on revving the engine.

It must have gone away on its own - I completely forgot about it until you said :nenau

Mine does it just after I have hozed it down, for a few minutes, until the belt dries out.
Why not replace the belts and degrease the pulleys.

Try if you can rotate the power steering pulley against the drive belt, when engine off.

Does the power steering fluid ever need replacing?
